Might be the best BBQ in the Alton/Godfrey area! Unfortunately they ran out of pork steaks and ribs so I didn't get to try either, but the brisket and pulled pork were both outstanding. All the sides are good but the cheesy corn was the winner for me. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

Everything has been so good and fast service. I live in texas but I make stop at least three times while I'm home. Will continue. The nachos are awesome along with everything.

Went here per a recommendation from a friend. Drove a long distance to get there, and was not disappointed. Out in the middle of no where but a nice place. Had a full rack of ribs which had a awesome amount of meat , and excellent flavor. Wife had brisket w grilled cheese which she loved. Staff was amazing. If we are back that we will stop again!

Very delicious food! The meat is so flavorful it does not require a sauce. Sides are yummy, too. Clean, friendly, great place to eat with the family.

Out of the way family restaurant is nicer inside than it looks when you pull up. Bbq was excellent as were the sides. Ribs were as good as any I have ever had. Three homemade sauces were not the best ever but not enough to lose a star. Order at the counter, grab a seat and the bring your food to the table quickly. Very nice staff helped a lady get up from her seat. Would loved if the served a piece of bread with the plate. They were out of the Mac n cheese-- I'm guessing that is because of how good it is...

We were on our way to Eckert's and my son was looking up places to eat and found this place. We were not disappointed. Building and bathroom was super clean, staff very helpful and friendly. Outdoor seating available as well. The only disappointment is that we don't live closer. However it is well worth a 45 minute drive when I'm really craving great BBQ!

Stopped by about noon yesterday (Sunday), and there was no line and a table available, but they were busy. I think the word is getting out about thus hidden gem and it won't be long before that will not be the case. The service was excellent! Possibly the owner's son helped us at the counter to choose from all the delicious sounding choices on the menu. We ordered several things to share. The highlights were the brisket quesadilla, the pulled pork nachos and the ribs. All mouthwateringly delicious. I don't usually like sauce on my ribs but theirs was delicious and not overwhelming. Wish I could have gone back the next day but it looks like they are closed Monday and Tuesday. Limited hours when they are open and of course they often seem to sell out. The atmosphere was comfortable and modern. Very clean. Great new place.

Out of the way is ok. This is a great spot for BBQ. I had the porksteak dinner with 2 sides. $17.oo bucks. Pork steak was cooked perfect, not to Smokey. Mac n cheese was seasoned well. Not from a box. Potato salad was mustard style with plenty of celery. They offer 3 kinds of house sauces. I liked all of them. Texas cake was a great compliment to this dinner. I will be sure to go back soon. I feel like I don't need to drive to STL for good BBQ now. The dinning room and new outdoor area is newly remodeled. The folks working were very friendly and helpful.

Steve's is just what this area needed. We needed a good quality BBQ restaurant, that serves tender and flavorful BBQ. I may have only been once, but I ordered enough for two. I dined in and enjoyed a Brisket Plate with; Mac-n-Cheese and Smokehouse Beans. The brisket was super tender, I could cut a bite size piece easily with my fork. They sliced it thicker then I am use to from other BBQ joints, which was a nice treat. I bet the thicker slices make a fantastic brisket sandwich. My second order was to-go and I got a half rack of ribs. The two sides I choose for this meal was, Potato Salad and Cole Slaw. While I was eating my brisket, I took a peak at the ribs and could already tell they were going to be good. Once I got home, I couldn't wait any longer. I had to try at least one of the ribs. I sliced one rib off the end and the meat was so tender and it had a crispy outer coating. When I took my first bite, it was fall off the bone goodness. The sides is what got them only four stars instead of five. The mac-n-cheese was a little bland and could had some more cheese and seasoning. I added, pepper and for my tastebuds, that was a win. I also felt the Smokehouse Beans could have been thicker and had more spices added. Some bacon or diced up brisket would make them kick. On the positive side of sides, the Potato Salad and Cole Slaw were spot on. I prefer a creamy Cole Slaw and that is what they offered. I would take seconds, if were being served at a family picnic. Then there was the Potato Salad, which luckily for me I got the last serving. They were getting ready to make a new batch. Potato Salad made with the perfect blend of mustard and the diced house pickles gave it an extra kick of flavor. The soda fountain is Pepsi products. There is no beer or alcohol. You order at the counter and they run it out to your table, once it is ready. They offer three different BBQ sauces for those of you who add a sauce to your meat. It's a family owned and operated business, so the customer service is spot on. They strive to make everyone feel welcome, as if they were dining in their home. I gotta go back and try the Pork Steak with Hash Brown Casserole and Spicy Cheese Corn.
